Hyosung TNS is issuing this Technical Bulletin to inform all customers of the urgent need to deploy enhanced security updates for cash handlers in Hyosung terminals.
Enhanced Security Technology
The enhanced technology of the cash handler binding features stronger encryptions for communications between the cash handler and the ATM’s hard drive, as well as improved authentication between critical points. This technology has been implemented across all Hyosung TNS cash handler models (dispensers and recyclers), providing a robust defense against unauthorized access.
Recent Exploitation Trends
Recent incidents in some regions have exposed vulnerabilities in earlier protections, exposing ATMs to sophisticated exploitation attempts, such as re-image or firmware attacks. These incidents uncovered the limitations of older security measures, which are vulnerable to new and evolving threats. Only Hyosung’s enhanced cash handler binding protects against these risks.
